Inrtoduction
One of the serious issues in the country, particularly in the border provinces, is wind erosion and dust. There are various causes and consequences of wind erosion, including decreasing soil fertility and increasing desertification. The use of new technologies with water requirements and lower costs is very necessary in Iran. Reducing wind speed is one of the most critical challenges in handling and regulating wind and dust erosion.the new strategies that could decrease wind speed must also be used. In this research, a new device which called “Ridger device” was used to build a ridge. The ridger device is an example of successful mechanical windbreaker, but the design of  the ridger device is time-consuming and this has become an explanation for the low acceptance of this management technique.
 
Material and methods
The ridging device was built in three functional parts including the removing soil part, mixing soil- polymer part and ridge maker parts. This machine was used to remove soil from the soil surface (depth of 35 cm), then transfer it to the conveyor, where a polymer (polymer suspension) was added and the mixed soil- polymer poured between the ridge maker part. As a result of the pressure of the two plates which are in the maker part, a ridge consisting of soil and polymer was made. Penetration resistance of the ridge can be increased by spraying polymer onto the soil. Adjusting the height and width of the ridge was done according to soil conditions, weather conditions, soil moisture content and other conditions.
 
Results and disscution
 This study was conducted to create a bio-soil with the ridging device to control wind and dust erosion.The wind speed profile showed that the wind speed also increased with increasing distance from the ground and reached an initial constant value (15.6 m/s) at a distance of 20 cm from the soil surface. The results of this study also showed that the the ridge effectively reduces the wind speed, so that by increasing the distance from the ridge, the wind speed also increases and reaches a constant trend at 10 and 12 times the height of the ridge. The results also showed that the wind erosion threshold speed in the region was 6.52 ms-1 and the distances between the ridges were 20 m, so to control erosion with this method, 500 meters of the ridge wall per hectare is necessary. These kinds of ridges would be useful if they were constructed to protect highways, railroads, and so on. Given that the device is a first of its kind, further studies are recommended to upgrade the design and functions. Moreover, Iran needs effective policies and research that could mitigate complex PM pollutions as well as the reduction in dust concentration to achieve sustainable development.

The use of plentiful raw materials in the area to create this windbreak is another major benefit of the ridger device compared to other living and non-living windbreaks. The duration of the ridge usually is between 4 and 5 years, and a new ridge can be constructed with low cost and minimal environmental risk. No environmental effect on the environment is caused by this windbreak.
