Abstract:  
Due to the population growth, lack of rainfall and water in desert areas, and considering the importance of groundwater resources (especially aqueducts in these areas), various plans have been implemented to strengthen these reserves. One of these projects is the establishment and construction of flood spreading projects that are usually carried out at the upper reaches of the Qanats. Evaluation of the effects of such projects before construction is usually not feasible, and after implementation, less attention is paid. Therefore, in this study, we try to investigate the effects of the Ebrahim Abad Mehrz flood spreading project, which was carried out in 1997, to investigate its effects on increasing the downstream Qanat discharge including Kheyrabad, Baghdad Abad, Mesoporabad and Mohammad Abad watershed so that its results To manage water resources. For this purpose, during the two decades prior to and after the project, the Ghanat discharge data was analyzed around the flood spreading project. The results of this study showed that the effect of the project on the Qanats of Baghdad Abad, Kheirabad and Mesoporabad was positive and did not have any effect on the Qanat of Mohammad Abad, using the comparison of the pair samples and the hydrologic analysis. The results of the chi-square test showed that the implementation of the plan had a positive effect on reducing the number of floods and increasing the drainage of the lower Qanats
